Job Description

The Good News Hmong Baptist Church is actively seeking a Senior Full-Time Pastor who will be assigned responsibility for the spiritual maturation and advancement of our congregation. This individual will assume a pivotal role in guiding and nurturing the spiritual advancement of our congregation. In addition, their responsibility encompasses a visionary and strategic direction to the church, alongside a vigilant commitment to the spiritual and emotional welfare of its members.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer spiritual guidance and counsel in accordance with biblical principles. (1 Peter 5:2-3)
  • Deliver sermons and instruct on biblical doctrine. (2 Timothy 4:2)
  • Supervise and manage the church’s worship services and associated programs. (1 Corinthians 14:40)
  • Formulate and assist in strategies aimed at spiritual growth and Christ-centered ministry and evangelism. (Matthew 28:19-20)
  • Nurture an environment fostering spiritual development, communal bonds, and compassion. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • Extend pastoral care and counseling support to congregation members, as needed. (Galatians 6:2, James 1:27)
  • Collaborate effectively with the church’s board and committees to realize the church’s mission and objectives. (1 Corinthians 1:10, 12:12).
  • Cultivate and sustain meaningful connections with both congregants and the local community. (Romans 12:10, 1 Timothy 3:7)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Pastoral Ministry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology or a related field. (Master of Divinity degree is highly preferred.)
  • Preferred affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), with consideration for candidates from other denominations subject to evaluation.
  • Aligned with the prescribed qualifications delineated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
  • Proficiency in both English and Hmong languages is preferable.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and a sense of responsibility for the well-being and development of family members.
